Writer Bibhuti bhusan Bandyopadhya is one of the eminent personalities bengal has ever
produced.Many places mentioned in his writings seem distinct to me. The distinctness and
fundamental approach of his writings are really praiseworthy.He understood life it's
sequence in a philosophical tune by binding all distinct parts of life into one whole. In this
regard, it seems that the character of Apu in his writing is a result of his own inner
consciousness. We witness a manifestation of Spiritual consciousness in Apu's life through
nature and human relationship. The writer himself has also travelled the spiritual path of
life. In Aparajita we see that Apu has dreamed of a spiritual life.Bibhutibhusan
Bandhyopadhyay has discovered successfully the tune of greatness in the life of even
ordinary persons. It can be said that he has tried to unveil the unified aspect of life amidst
fragments of experience. In his novel Debjan it is found that he has searched for the way to
integrate this mundane and supramundane world that lies beyond death. He has sketched
his thoughts about entering the life after death and then returning back to this mundane life
in this Novel. His philosophical Outlook is reflected in his Novel Icchamati. It is also
evident that he has reached to the depth of vedanta as well. Again in his Chhader Pahar we
hear the echo of Shvetasvetar Upanisad.
In this way, from his writings it is evident that Upanisad, Gita ,Vedanta- all these have
great influence on the life of Bubhutibhusan Bandhyoapadhyay. This versatile writer had a
great philosophical mentality. | |
