Suffering and the Path to the Cessation of Suffering in Buddhist Philosophy: A Study
Ranjay Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, Barjora College, Barjora, Bankura, West Bengal, India
Sadness is one of the most intense and painful emotions in human life. Life is basically a collection of many sorrows. Therefore, since birth, humans have been searching for happiness by conquering sorrow. According to the doctrine that the beginning and the end of human life is full of suffering, that doctrine is called dukhabad. Almost all Indian philosophies, except Cārvakā, have discussed about suffering, but they have not only discussed about suffering, but also about how people can get rid of it. I will discuss in my research article about suffering in Buddhist philosophy and how it is possible to get rid of suffering.
