The Political Framework of Chandragupta II

In the history of ancient India, political groups rose due to their talent, military skills, diplomacy, autocracy and aggressive policies, and fell due to their internal turmoil, wars and poor governance. After the fall of the mauryan Empire in India, another powerful emerged the Gupta dynasty. Which is termed as the second Maurya Empire among historians. Chandragupta Maurya ll was one of the most talented king of the maurya Empire who succeeded his father Samudragupta. He was an efficient ruler and during his reign he showed despotism along with one of the expansion of the kingdom and welfare works. In addition to the accounts of his reign by native historians, the Chinese traveler Fa-Hien gave valuable information about his reign. After his ascension to the throne came coinage, art, architectural monuments and Central administration, military genius, judicial system, directive of the council of ministers, conquest of states, establishment of cities and Port as well as foreign ports and extensive promotion of his trade. He is a great empire although unable to conquest, he conquered some Kingdoms like Bengal and Vahlika.
