The purpose of this research paper is to analyse the characterization of the main characters
of the Trilogy of Gajendra Kumar Mitra. The Trilogy (Kolkatar Kachei, Upakanthe, and
Poush Faguner Pala) of Gajendra Kumar Mitra is an exceptional addition to the post
independence modern Bengali literature. The three parts of this novel explains the stories
and characters which are more realistic and practical with an excellent outword
appearance. The women characters drag more attention especially in these novels. This
paper explores the struggle of women who have to adhere to many limitations in their life.
The protagonist of this trilogy Shyama and other women characters are so busy in their life
struggles that they do not have enough time for luxury and maintain the relationships with
their loved ones. This paper endeavour to portray the three main characters of this novel
who transformed themselves through brutal realities of life. | |
