Partition in Hasan Azizul Haque’s Short Stories: “Joler Kotha Panir Kotha” Shubhashree Das, State-Aided College Teacher, Department of Bengali Language and Literature, Raja Birendra Chandra College, Kandi, Murshidabad, West Bengal, India
The partition in the middle of the 20th century left deep scars on the fabric of Bengali's life, echoing the broader social disaster that unfolded in India. The lasting impact on the lives of Bengalis reflects the profound consequences of the two-nation theory, tearing not just the nation but the very essence of humanity. The sense of being alienated in one's own land and the sorrow of forced emigration vividly encapsulate the frustration and grief experienced by the common people due to political decisions. . I have embodied the frustration, lamentation and grief In context of the Hasan azizul hoque's selected short stories of the common people due to emigration political decisions only. Hassan Azizul Hoque is the most important short story writer of Bengali literature in Bangladesh who in his texts selected the issues of refugee problems, social and economic decay of mankind, human brutality, riots and communal instability. The style which he adopted for his partition stories to delineate the pangs, sorrow and sufferings of partition coupled with post-partition condition sketches are irreparable and outstanding.
