Although the introduction of the Creator is through the creation, it is essential to know the biography of the Creator. Because much of the Creator’s life story remains hidden within the creation. While we cannot find a poet’s biography in their poetry, it is equally true that understanding the poet’s life intimately is essential for comprehending their poetry. Just as literary works often conceal aspects of an author’s life, when we juxtapose literature with life, it becomes more meaningful and complete. Our celebrated wordsmith Nalini Bera’s life and literature are intricately intertwined. His literary oeuvre spans the spectrum of time and societal context. Born in a region, he is connected to its people, family, geography, customs, rituals, ethics, and cultural expressions, including songs, festivals, and proverbs. Therefore, discussing his literature in the context of his life is highly relevant. In our contemplative essays, we have endeavoured to closely examine the symbiotic relationship between Nalini Bera’s life and his literary endeavours. |
