डॉ. कस्तूरी चक्रवर्ती, असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर, हिन्दी विभाग, कोकराझार गवर्नमेंट कॉलेज, कोकराझार, भारत
Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh is one of those few poets who have tried to understand the inter-relationship of individual and society in great depth. Therefore, in his poems one can visualize a conscious effort to know and understand the society through the individual rather than mere individuality.
In the diary of a literary person he has also said, why does representation arise within moments of Art? Why does the artist feel that his words are important to everyone? … This happens because the coordination of the situation-free individuality of vision and the situation-bound individuality of sensation reaches a higher position than itself.
Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh, who created poems of self-realization, has experienced the ruthless struggle of life at the levels of realization and creation. Due to this, his poems resonate with the general meaning and express a broader meaning. At the centre, his experiences pledge with the problems of middle class society, their life and reality along with important points of contemporary history.
His poems clearly reflect the complex anxiety of situations as well as the disgust of loneliness. His poems are the living document of complex as well as historical experiences of present life, especially time and society. In fact, he is not a poet who is bound by the boundaries of growth and experiment for the sake of a new poetry, but is a poet who also transcends these boundaries.
Keywords: Life, reality, society and new poetry.
