Lyricist Rabindranath wrote a new song in a frenzy to express himself, or used it after a new song in a play or composed only a song for a play. Sometimes poetry has been given a lyrical form, expanding the song into a form of poetry. A review of song manuscripts usually constructed in the structure of sthaayi, antara, sanchari and abhoga reveals a varied pattern of transposition. He was a relentless reviser. Basically the editing technique is behind the differences in the lyrics of his songs. If we observe the differences in the lyrics of his songs, the emotional swing of the poet is evident in the use of certain words. That is, using a word in a song, then cutting it out and choosing a synonym, but not satisfied with that, bringing back the original word. And in the final text of 'Gitabitan', sometimes the deleted text was compiled and sometimes the revised text. These repeated changes not only reveal the poet's emotional instability, but illuminate the poet's conscious vision to give the song a complete form, to keep its beauty intact. As we examine several manuscripts of Rabindranath's songs in the Rabindra Bhabana Archive, we witness the poet's dilemma over the use of the words 'Gagan' and 'Akash'. |
