Male–Female Relationship in Rabindra Short Stories: Reference to “Nastanirh”
Dr. Bandana Sinha Mahapatra,
Assistant Professor, Department of Bengali, Panchmura Mahavidyalaya, Panchmura, Bankura, West Bengal, India
One of the hallmarks of the modern era is individualism, the multidimensionality of the relationship between men and women can be very clearly understood in the social life reflected in the literature of the modern era. It can be seen that the bonds and reforms of the relationship between men and women, which were so far bound by the family and social environment, are gradually loosening or relaxing and depending on the nuances of personal feelings. That is, marriage is no longer the only basis for the relationship between men and women, the activeness or caring of both men and women is the main basis of their relationship. In the present discussion, based on Rabindranath's 'Nashtnid' story, an attempt is made to determine how the lack of care in the marital relationship has made the chemistry of male-female relationship conflict-complicated.
