Use of proverbs in Selina Hussain’s Novel, with special reference to ‘Hangar Nadi Graned’
(1976) and ‘Magna Chaitanye Sish’ (1979)
Selina Hussain is a famous novelist of Bengali literature. Even though she belongs to
Bangladesh, her literature is the treasure of life for all Bengali readers. On the one hand
she is anther of many classic Novels, at the same time she has written several stories and
articles which are also exceptionally popular and universally accepted. Selina Hussain
mainly wrote novels focusing on Bengali life, culture, tradition, struggle for livelihood etc.
Especially various aspects of Bengali folk culture have come up again and again in her
novels. Therefore in the present article we will try to highlight the use of proverbs in Selina
Hussain’s novel. | |
