In this paper, I attempted to discuss Practical Vedanta philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.
Swami Vivekananda was a powerful Vedantic philosophical thinker who introduced India’s
cultural legitimacy and historical pride to the world’s intellectual communities for the first
time. His Vedanta thought was first received from the supreme guru Sri Ramakrishna. Later
he was influenced by Advaita Vedanta of Shankaracharya. He wanted to give a practical
form to the theoretical concept of Advaita Vedanta. Initiated in Advaita Vedanta,
Vivekananda went beyond the conventional view and explained the Vedanta principles in a
new perspective and tried to show the way how the application is possible without being
confined to the discussion of the theory alone. This interpretation of Vedanta is NavaVedanta or Practical Vedanta. | |
